What style of Wedding Cake will you have?

Jun 29 2018

Your wedding cake and the latest trends can be a huge part of your special day. Everyone loves cake, right?! You can really incorporate a theme or personal touch into your wedding cake. There are options of stacked tiers, which can be different colours and even different flavours! You could have lots of big cakes, or lots of little cakes. If you did not want cake, you could have cupcakes or even donuts. And even they could have different toppings and flavours! We have collected a few of the fantastic cakes which we have seen over the years at Larchfield Estate for you. Hopefully your mouth doesn't water toooooo much!

Flowery Cake

The more traditional but equally beautiful wedding cake comes in three tiers and is usually white. This couple added a splash of colour with red ribbon and stunning flowers to match the rest of their bridal flowers. Adding a Mr & Mrs sign is a lovely touch too and the pine cone topping off this cake suggests a Winter wedding which ties in with the season.

The Dripping Cake

A cake which has dripping icing coming off it's sides, yes please! If you have a white cake then a drip of colour can really help your cake to stand out! If you had a colourful or marble covered cake, then a taste of white icing dripping off the sides can be quite effective. Sinead & Padraig filled the rest of the cake tree levels with yummy cupcakes and sparkling decorations.

The Macaroon Tower Cake

Love cake? Love macaroons? There is a solution! Sarah & Jordan's wedding cake was made up of a macaroon tower which looks absolutely delicious. They had a purple colour theme running throughout their wedding hence the gradient of colour on their macaroons. French Village Bakery created this beauty!

Foiled Cake

Adding a splash of gold or silver foil to your cake for extra and simple decor can be very effective. Holly & Jono had a rustic cake which matched our main barn with the stone walls coated in fairy lit trees. Candytuft Cakes baked this lovely cake.

Naked-Cake

Naked cakes are very popular, and we can see why! Showing off the different fresh layers of sponge between the sweet icing is lovely. Fresh fruit or flowers can really style the cake and add a pop of colour. Lizzie & Conal even had a floral backdrop to help their cake stand out even more!

Semi-Naked Cake

The semi-naked cake is very trendy. It is the more modest sister of the naked cake and they look totally impressive! Rachel & James had an October wedding and matched their cake with to their flowers which held a colour scheme for their wedding day. Check out Cake Couture if the cake below takes your fancy!
