A winter wedding wonderland..

Mar 28 2017

Oh it’s chilly outside here at Larchfield Estate, and even though it’s heading into the warmer months, we cannot help but reminisce on our past winter weddings and those that will be coming up in the next year. We love inspiration here at Larchfield Estate, but we also like to inspire, so please feel free to immerse yourself in this wintery read…

Winter may be one of the most romantic times of the year in terms of wedding themes. Cosy atmospheres, wintery landscaped photographs and décor filled with twinkling fairy lights add to the endless possibilities.

Elegant and rustic centrepieces can be used to add effect to your winter wonderland. Colour schemes do not have to be stuck-in-the-mud with classic crimson and berry red tones. Might you sway towards more of a dusky pink undertone? Or maybe you’re drawn to lavender and cooling blooms with striking stone hues.

Guests will be greeted merrily at your enchanted winter wedding with a glass of mulled wine on arrival or perhaps a tempting hot chocolate bar. Adding a hint of spark into your hot chocolate with pinnacle salted caramel could be a conversation starter for those guests who have not quite made exchanges with all attending. Canapes can be plentiful in terms of soup amuse bouche and each guest will feel cosy and serene by the glow of candle light which glimmers over the Orangery and Bar.

Wedding cakes are another facet of your day where you can let your creativity shine - don’t let the winter weather cloud your creativity. Gone are the days of simple white frosting. Naked and semi naked cakes are extremely popular and are perfect for a rustic inspired day. With the addition of wintery florals your cake can match your theme perfectly or stand out on it’s own.

As the happy couple, you will be able to cherish those surreal moments away from your party while being warmed by the rays of winter sunshine in the early evening and having a photographer on hand to capture stunning snippets of your day.

The evening menu can be tailored to your taste, and when your bellies are satisfied, you and your guests will dance the night away in our dance floor area whilst under a star-like sky. Lit braziers will surround your courtyard celebration and warm your guests as they toast their marshmallows and make light patterns with their sparklers. As mid-night goodies, warmed iced cookies may be passed around along with snow-like fluffy candy floss which guests can treat themselves to as they wish.

There will be no after holiday blues when guests are looking forward to your wedding, and you definitely will not be experiencing a down mood, especially when you will be whisked off on your honeymoon.

And at the end of the day, you and your new partner could be nestling up beside the glow of the log fire at the intimate and private Rose Cottage while reminiscing on the dazzling first day of your new life together.
