Q: Are we allowed to have fireworks?
Due to the close proximity of special breed animals we do not allow fireworks, unless you have express written consent from the owners.
Q: Are we allowed to take photographs at the house or at one of the lakes?

Photos are not allowed at the main house as this is a private residence however the bride, groom and photographer are allowed access to the Fish Pond Lake for photographs. The Walled Gardens and courtyard provide numerous photo opportunities for everyone.

Q: Can we sell alcohol?
Yes -  you will however need to arrange a temporary license, we would be happy to recommend companies that can do this for you. These companies will sell at very competitive prices and will not charge you for the temporary license. Please ask for more details if required.
Q: Can we use a caterer not on your recommended suppliers list?
We recommend caterers that we have found to be consistently good as we appreciate the importance of food! However if you wish to use a caterer that is not recommended by us this option may be possible - please ask us. Please note that all caterers must pay the catering fee.
Q: Can we use the Larchfield Tables and Chairs in the gardens?
Whilst we are happy for you to use our tables and chairs for inside use, in order to keep them dry we do not allow for our tables (other than our trestle tables) or chairs to be used outside. If you would like any contact details on where to hire additional chairs and tables from please do ask.
Q: Can you help with recommendations for DJ's, Bands, Flowers etc?
Of course! We appreciate how important it is to get the best suppliers at the best price. We are therefore more than happy to help with recommendations of people that we have found to be reliable and of high quality. We also automatically send through a long list of contacts when you book at Larchfield and if we can help with anything outside of this list please do just ask. We are here to help and are very happy to do so.
Q: Can you recommend any local accommodation for our guests?
We are very happy to supply a list of local B&B's, self-catering cottages and hotels on request and automatically send this through with any booking. Some local B&B's can offer courtesy pickup and drop off to Larchfield Estate.
Q: Do we have to clean the Larchfield Barn after use?

Your caterers should clear away after the meal and leave the main barn area fairly tidy and free from food and drink. We give you the morning after your event for any external suppliers to collect anything and for you to collect any flowers, wines etc. Larchfield will then hoover the floors and ensure it is cleaned for the next event. There will be a partial loss of deposit if excessive cleaning is required or if suppliers need access outside of the booked hours (unless by prior arrangement).

Q: Do you allow candles to be lit in Larchfield Barn?
Yes, we allow candles to be lit on the provision that the hirer ensures that they are not a fire risk... i.e. they should be in a container (other than candelabras which are fine) that catches dripping wax and protects the flame and the container must be higher than the flame itself.
Q: Do you allow confetti to be thrown at the venue?
Sadly confetti is not allowed in the Larchfield Barn or the Courtyard areas. Rose petals are however allowed to be thrown in the Walled Garden.
Q: Do you charge a corkage fee?
One of the major advantages of hiring Larchfield is that we do not charge any corkage.
Q: Do you supply any additional items for hire?
We hire out chair covers and sashes, tall vases for flowers and cream 5 arm candelabras at an additional fee. Please refer to the booking form for prices. For anything not listed on the booking form please do call us and we would be happy to obtain quotes for you. N.B. Some of our suppliers do not charge delivery/collection fees if booked through Larchfield.
Q: How many tables and chairs do Larchfield Estate provide FOC?
We have enough indoor chairs to seat 200 as well as 15 x 5ft round tables, 30 x 4ft round tables and 6 x trestle tables.
Q: If we hire in extra chairs who would set these up in the sunken garden/main barn for the ceremony?
The set up of the hired chairs in the sunken garden/main barn is done by the Larchfield Team the day of the ceremony.
Q: Is Larchfield Estate licensed to carry out civil weddings?
Yes we are fully licensed for Civil Marriages and Partnerships both in the Walled Garden and in Larchfield Barn. Our local Registrar office is at Lisburn. Please ask for more information.
Q: Is smoking allowed?
In line with the Smoking Ban no smoking is allowed in either the Larchfield Barn or the attached Marquee. Smoking is permitted outside.
Q: Is there not too much work involved with planning a wedding at Larchfield compared to a hotel?

On the contrary - the Larchfield Team are on hand to act as wedding planners and to assist with the co-ordinating of set up. The main difference between a hotel and Larchfield Estate is that you get to choose a caterer who will then set up tables and linens etc. as would be done in a hotel. Alternatively if you would like to decorate the barn with your own personal touches then we are very happy for you to do so.
